About Me

Hello, my name is Michal Pechardo and this is my online portfolio. I craft simple and practical designs for websites, logos, and print. I work using the latest techniques and standard-based code to ensure the best usable solution.

I have been working with media and design since I was in High School. Today I work as a visual designer and a web developer for two different companies that are in different fields. I'm a designer with experience in branding, prints, UI/UX design, and front-end development.

I have an eye for design and a thirst to learn more. I appreciate good branding (I buy toothpaste based on the packaging). I take interest in art, design, and photography. When I am not designing, I work in the media department for the great Harvest Baptist Church.

This Website

This website was developed, designed, and coded by myself using HTML, CSS, and JQuery. I also used CSS Media Queries to make the website mobile responsive. I love simple, minimal design that use negative spaces so I tried to build my website using these elements.

Although my website was coded from scratch, I couldnt have done it without the help from these online resources. I use the Google Fonts API to render my fonts. I also use the awesome Font Awesome, created by Dave Gandy, for all my icon needs. For the lightbox, I use the light weight Nivo Lightbox. If you're wondering how I made the hover effects on the images, I followed the super simple tutorial by Mary Lou on Codrops. Lastly, for the design quotes, I went to quotesondesign.com by Chris Coyier.

"Design is like a mom, nobody notices when she's around, but everybody misses her when she's not." - Santiago Borray
